The Dead Man

Sin has no power
Over the dead man;
Dressed in bewitching guise,
It stirs him not.
Tears and smiles;
Words and blows;
All in their turn,
Fail to awaken a response.
No appeal will stir,
Until he hears,
The shout of God.

"Reckon ye also yourselves
To be dead indeed unto sin,
But alive unto God,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord."
This is our position
In the sight of the Father;
It is for us;
Through faith,
And the Spirit of power;
To take it up,
And make it real.
