Prayerlessness

Prayer creates its own paradigm:
All progress in prayer is an answer to prayer,
And pure prayer promotes its own progress,
By increasing our power and hardiness.

Worst of all is prayerlessness:
Not to want to pray, then,
Ends in not being able to pray;
Disused by God for lack of seeking Him.

Banned from the Divine table;
Unable to partake of His Spiritual provision,
The hungered falter, dwindle, and die,
Their cry having found no place in heaven.

"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat thy bread."
Is true for both physical and spiritual labor:
A Divine constant when in pursuit of both
The life of bread, and the Bread of Life.
