Minions

He who trusts
In the Living God,
Can understand;
He whose mind
Is set at ease
In the Risen One;
Will quickly discover:
The many worries,
And cares of life
That ring, and resound,
Across your mind,
At any given moment;
Or but hold, and wait,
Until your head lays,
Weary, on sleep's pillow;
To leap upon you,
Thwarting all rest:
These; all of these;
Are but the minions
Of the Strongman,
Seeking for weakness;
And feverishly sucking,
At the wellspring
Of your life.
