A Mighty Tempest

Coming out of eternity;
Time, as it were,
Held happiness and joy
Freely in its hands:
In the blessedness
Of His creation;
God had united
Heaven and earth.

Yet, it was in Paradise,
Man cut his own hell:
In a mighty tempest,
Black as night;
Sin devastated all,
Driving the morning splendor,
Out of the history,
Of man, and time.

Now does he stand,
Under the shadow of
Rebellion and death:
Bearing a stifled disharmony
Of wisdom and absurdity;
Rendering equally impossible,
Both faith in God;
And denial of God.
