Communion with God,
Gives beauty and ornament
To the spirit of a man;
It refines and perfects
The rudeness of his life;
It brings Light unto his path;
And gives Life to his soul.
Still, it is an effect,
Produced in proportion,
To the depth and continuity
Of his partaking.
"The soul of the sluggard,
Desireth, and hath nothing:
But the soul of the diligent,
Shall be made fat."
